| No place for boys – Jes Gram-Hansen takes the Danish Open 2009 |
|
Generel: Today’s Danish Open is one of those events where people will, for years to come, say ”I was there”.

| Jes Gram-Hansen (Den) and Torvar Mirsky (Aus) through to the Final of |
|
Generel: The two semi final contests at the Danish Open had two distinct personalities - Rahm vs Mirsky might be described as the ’thinking man’s contest’ whereas Gilmour vs Gram-Hansen was a physical, bruising duel.

Generel: With the semi finals due to be sailed to a finish in the morning this was an opportunity for the skippers to leave their opponents with something to sleep on and Gilmour may be rueing his choice of opponent.

| Gilmour chooses his opponent to the semis |

Generel: - ’Peter Gilmour is always difficult to sail against, but we will do our best. He really requires you to hold your concentration the whole time.’ Says Jes Gram-Hansen ’but we will do our best and it is certainly going to be exciting!’. |

| Round Robin completed |
|
Generel: The final flights of the Danish Open Round Robin were a case of everything to lose for Peter Gilmour (Aus) but with convincing wins over Peter Wibroe (Dan) and Ian Williams (Gbr) he was assured a place in the semis. Williams needed to win both his last two matches and the loss to Gilmour left him too much to do.

| It’s not over ’til it’s over... |
|
Generel: After a crew/boat change for flight 17 the ’aggression’ - or some might politely put it ’determination’ - continues. Adam Minoprio (Nzl) deserved his win over Col(Fra) in match 1 (flight 17) and Mattias Rahm (Swe) sailed to perfection to shed a penalty on the finsh line and beat Robertson (Nzl). Unfortuntely one of Rahm’s crew received an injury from the boom during the manoevre and it was necessary for the ’on-water’ medic to dispatch him to hospital for diagnosis and treatment. We wish him well.
