During Danish Open all sailors race with identical boats owned by Royal Danish Yacht Club, the DS 37, developed especially for match racing.
DS 37 Match racer is regarded by many as the perfect boat for match racing. It is fast and mobile, hence a real challenge for it's crew. The DS 37 was designed for match racing back in 1991 by a Danish design team lead by Lars Olsen under the umbrella of the Danish Sailing Federation and forward looking sailors.
The hull and deck is produced with a strong sandwich construction, where glass fiber is attached by hand. The keel is made of galvanized steel, and also acts as the lifting point of the boat.
